Spencer Trask Invited to Join Prestigious Edison Awards Panel
March 31, 2011 (Greenwich, CT) – Michael Docherty, President of Spencer Trask & Co., will serve on the “Getting Into the Marketplace: From Inception to End User” as a panel contributor during the “Meet the Innovators” forum at the prestigious Edison Awards in New York on April 5, 2011.
Docherty is a leading open innovation expert, entrepreneur and investor with a wide range of experiences from senior level corporate roles, consulting and venture-backed startups. Before joining Spencer Trask, Mike was President of Third Screen Marketplace, a unique collaborative innovation marketplace focused on mobile technology. Previously, he founded Venture2, a company that focused on innovation matchmaking. Mike’s prior corporate leadership roles included VP/GM for Sunbeam Products and senior marketing and innovation positions with General Electric and Ford Motor Company. He will be joined on the panel by other esteemed experts including: Shawn Stad of Johnson & Johnson, Gene Farrell of Coca-Cola Freestyle and Howard Moskowitz of I-Novation, Inc.

The Forum is designed to showcase the innovation process as it relates to: R&D; products nominated for an Edison Best New Product Award; and how the process of innovation ties to Edison’s legacy. The Forum is comprised of a series of panels convened around topics that are relevant to the role innovation plays in today’s marketplace, and during which presentations highlight the innovation behind Edison Award finalists’ products or organizations.
